Welcome to

SMOGA

Welcome to the official website of the St. Margaret Old Girls' Association.
This is aimed at fostering a lifelong relationship between our alma mater
and her old students and be able to build for a greater tomorrow.

Sales and marketing deals are accomplished virtually globally. And of course, social media have helped shaped the world. We as a group must not be caught napping. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

My dear Sisters let us maximize the use of this website to navigate our journey through school years. Let’s connect with our classmates. Let’s share experiences, celebrate dreams and successes together even as we advance in age.
Most importantly, let’s connect under the name of our dear Alma Mater … St. MARGARET’S SCHOOL, ILESHA! Beautiful Sisters. It has been a great pleasure presenting this Website to you. Let’s make the best use of it. Let’s get even closer to one another on this website. Remember, ‘MAKE NEW FRIENDS BUT KEEP THE OLD. ONE IS SILVER, THE OTHER IS GOLD”.

I wish everyone a pleasant, glorious and rewarding 2022. Up SMOGA … SISTERS FOR LIFE

Bolade Thomas (née Oredugba) Class of ‘66 PRESIDENT, SMOGA NATIONAL EXCO

National President's Welcome Speech

Dear Sisters For Life,
WELCOME TO SMOGA WEBSITE! The exclusive information highway for St. Margaret’s School Ilesha Alumni. However, before we start cruising on this information highway, I believe that I need to tell the short story behind it. Let me start by giving credit to the beautiful SMOGites, Class of ‘87 whose idea it was to build a website for the School in commemoration of their 32nd Anniversary.

However, along the way, the project got stalled due to cost inflation and lack of interest by members. When the National body was formed, the class brought back the website subject to the front burner through their representative, Folasade Femi-Lawal (Nee Ajayi). The National Exco bought into it, but funding became a big issue. We then decided to seek assistance from members of SMOGA. Appeals went out via my quarterly NEWSLETTERS on our WhatsApp SMOGA platforms, but yielded no positive result. Keeping hope alive, we decided to approach the Lagos branch.

The Lagos Branch President, Bimpe Uwadia (nee Shittu), also voiced the need for us to pursue the building of the website without giving up. At the next Lagos Branch zoom meeting I was given the opportunity to appeal to members for donation towards the building of the website. We received an overwhelming response on the Spot! The President on behalf of Lagos Branch promised to fund half of the cost while other members expressed their willingness to support. By this action, we were greatly motivated to commence action immediately.

On behalf of the National Executive Council, I say a BIG THANKS to our amiable Lagos Branch action President, Bimpe Uwadia, our beautiful and ever supportive SMOGA Sisters worldwide for their various financial donations. My appreciation also goes to the WEBSITE COMMITTEE who have been working tirelessly to accomplish this project.

The Website story is a challenge to us as a body, we embraced it and executed it because we believe in it. Remember we are in the era of Advanced information technology. This is the ‘New Normal’. Nowadays meetings are held virtually. Virtual offices have come to stay.
